In the next two years Turkey will finally be ready to become a full member of the EU, the Turkish minister for EU Affairs Volkan Bozkir said.
According to the minister, the goal of Turkey is also to raise the standard of living in the country to the level of the EU, Trend reports with reference to the Anadolu agency.
Earlier, Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country has no interest in the issue of accession to the EU. Official negotiations on Turkey's accession to the EU were resumed in 2005.
Turkey has fulfilled 65 percent of its commitments to the EU for accession to this organization.
Volkan Bozkir previously said the negotiations between Turkey and EU couldn’t continue in the format required by the organization. He said at the time that democracy in Turkey is at a higher level than in some European countries.
