The decision by members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to extend sanctions against the Russian delegation came as a surprise to the head of the Monitoring Committee of the Assembly, Stefan Shennah.
He plans to do everything possible as soon as possible and by special invitation to return Moscow to the number of full members of the Assembly.
"This time the position of the British Conservative Party has played a decisive role. But I will do everything possible to change the balance," Shennah said in an interview with "Kommersant".
According to the head of the committee, up to the last moment he was hoping that the majority would vote for the lifting of sanctions.
