Today the Russian government published on its official website the
full text of the socio-economic development strategy for the North
Caucasian Federal District 2025, YuGA.ru reports.
The document was approved by a decree signed by Prime Minister
Vladimir Putin on September 6.
According to the strategy, industries such as construction, oil,
agriculture, tourism, spa resorts, infrastructure, energy and
transport will be actively developed. No less than 400 thousand jobs
should be created in the region as a result of the program.
Creation of the conditions for an accelerated development of the
property sector and for new jobs is proclaimed the main aim of the
strategy, as well as improvement of local living standards.
According to the strategy, basic security problems could be solved
within the next five to ten years. Up to this point the development of
one of the most attractive economic sectors of the district - tourism
- will be significantly constrained and private investment in other
sectors will also be limited. "In this situation, priority will be
given to the development of agriculture, metallurgy and the fuel and
energy complex, as well as such related industries as the chemical and
petrochemical industries and mechanical engineering", the document
says.
Given that the development priorities of the North Caucasian Federal
District are agriculture and tourism, preservation of its unique
environment and favorable ecological conditions is one of the most
important tasks, the strategy stresses.
