New day off for residents of Sevastopol

In Sevastopol, the day of the referendum on joining Russia, March 16, will become a day off, the city's governor Sergei Menyailo declared.

"March 16, 2014 is an ambitious, landmark day for Sevastopol, Crimea and Russia, because there was a referendum, it was the will of the people. Therefore, it has been decided to declare March 16 a holiday in Crimea. We are not really in a hurry, but also in Sevastopol this day will be a day off," RSN quotes the message of Menaylo.

Citizens of Crimea will also celebrate the anniversary of the referendum and Day of Reunification with Russia on March 16. The relevant law was passed by the Crimean parliament in its second reading.
