US will continue isolation policy against Russia

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said that the United States intends to contribute to the further isolation of Putin's regime in Russia.

"The President’s view continues to be that his administration needs to be continually assessing what our strategy is to further isolate the Putin regime in Russia to convince them to reevaluate their strategy in Ukraine," he said.

Moreover, the White House representative said that the US strategy towards Russia is successful. "The strategy has been successful in implementing the sanctions regime against the Russian economy, the currency devaluation was the fact that made many independent appraisers of debt lower the credit rating of Russian securities," Earnest said.

Earnest added that sanctions have led to a decline in the Russian economy. "And so by just about any measure that you consider, the Russian economy has taken a big hit because of the strategic decisions that President Putin has made as it relates to Ukraine," RIA Novosti cited Earnest as saying.

In addition, he drew attention to the fact that the administration has made no new decisions on granting Ukraine weapons. According to the representative of the White House, Obama is considering "all possibilities" in this regard.
