Americans detect Iranian satellite

The US space surveillance system, administered by the Pentagon's Strategic Command, has confirmed the presence of the Iranian satellite 'Fajr' in orbit.

The satellite has received the international identification number 2015-006A (NORAD Catalog - 40387), and according to the American space surveillance system, it has launched into an initial orbit of 223 km by 470 km with an inclination of 55.4°. The period of revolution about the Earth is 91 minutes.

The Iranian news agency 'Fars' reported that Iran yesterday put the 'Fajr' satellite, which was entirely designed and built in Iran, into orbit. Nevertheless, the American system was not able to confirm this information.
