The Greek government supports the construction of the Trans Adriatic pipeline (TAP), however it wants to get more benefits from gas transit through Greece’s territory, the country’s minister of Production Reconstruction, Environment and Energy, Panagiotis Lafazanis said.
"We have concerns about the conditions of transit through the Transadriatic pipeline regarding Greek interests. We have always stressed that we want it to run through Greece. We support the project and the fact that the pipeline will cross the territory of Greece, because it will contribute to the country’s energy security," he said.
At the same time, he said that the government will strive to increase benefits from TAP for Greece and Azerbaijan. "There will be discussions in order to get the best results,” he reported.
"The Greek government aims at strengthening relations with Azerbaijan in all spheres," the Minister said.
