Iran is ready to help friends in fighting terrorism

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohmmad Javad Zarif spoke about Tehran’s readiness to cooperate with its friendly countries in their anti-terror and anti-violence campaigns.

The Iranian minister arrived in Burundi yesterday on an official visit. He has already visited Kenya and Uganda, and Tanzania will be the next country on his itinerary.

In his meeting with Kavakure, Zarif said that his visit was aimed at boosting bilateral relations and regional cooperation between the two countries. The foreign minister of Burundi, for his part, called for continuation and promotion of Tehran-Bujumbura cooperation in the educational, economic, industrial and scientific fields, as was stressed in agreements previously signed between the two countries.

Kavakure also stressed the need for bilateral as well as collective cooperation against terrorism. Kavakure expressed appreciation to Iran for sending humanitarian aid to Burundi and for assisting the African country with educational, health and technical help.
