President Obama spoke at the annual congressional prayer breakfast in Washington, where honored guests gathered to offer thanks for the blessings bestowed on the United States.
In his speech Barack Obama condemned the recent bloody crimes in the world and the criminals who "use religion as an excuse for murder committed by them."
President Obama said that no God condones terror, and no grievance justifies the taking of innocent lives. He also warned against the popular conclusion that these cases are not unique to one religion, "remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ," Obama noted.
