Chechen President Ramzan Khadyrov and Ingush President Yunus-Bek Yevkurov have held an informal meeting. In the course of extensive talks, the two regional leaders discussed in detail the situation in the two republics. They exchanged opinions on how to solve the task of socio-economic development in Chechnya and Ingushetia, how to attract investment and create jobs, the president's press-service said.
The presidents agreed that spiritual leaders should play a significant role in the moral and ethical upbringing of young people. They announced that scientific and cultural figures of the two republics would hold regular meetings and joint events and exchange experiences.
The two presidents emphasised the fraternal relationship of the Chechen and Ingush peoples, their common history, traditions, customs and religion. This must always be remembered. Yunus-Bek Yevkorov expressed deep gratitude to Chechen President Ramzan Khadyrov for the stalwart support he showed to the Ingush leadership and people after the terrorist act and the heavy injuries sustained. He noted that the Ingush people appreciated this help and knew that the Chechen president and the entire Chechen people were ready to take any action on the day of the tragic events to maintain stability.
"I am very grateful for the fact that, in every population centre, in every mosque, thousands of Muslims of Chechnya prayed for my speed recovery. I know that tens of thousands of families were given donations. This gave us strength, we felt the shoulder of Ramzan
Khadyrov and all the Chechen people", said Yunus-Bek Yevkurov.
The presidents of Chechnya and Ingushetia stressed the necessity for them to meet regularly to discuss the problems of the region and find ways of resolving them.
