RAS science center to open in Ingushetia

The RAS Ingush Science Center will open in Ingushetia, according to an agreement reached between Ingush Leader Yunus-Bek Yevkurov and President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Fortov. Yevkurov said at a meeting with the staff of the Akhriyev Research Institute and members of the Union of Young Scientists that Ingushetia will open a Science House.

The Ingush leader noted the need to host scientific conferences and seminars on a regional and local scale attended by RAS academicians. In his words, the country house of Kalinin in Jeyrakh may be a suitable spot for the Science House.

Yevkurov proposed the formation of an Academy of Sciences in the region in January. The local parliament approved the initiative in the first reading.
