Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Cairo on an official visit.
It is planned that the Russian leader will discuss with the Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi bilateral cooperation and the situation in the Middle East, in particular, the Syrian crisis and the fight against Islamic State, BBC reports.
It is expected that the sides will also discuss the possible establishment of a free trade zone between Egypt and the Eurasian Economic Union.
The Russian delegation also includes Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Economic Development Alexei Ulyukayev, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov, Minister of Agriculture and the head of Rosatom, Sergei Kiriyenko.
