Head of Russian Security Council accuses U.S. of provoking discord

Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said that U.S. anti-Russian sanctions were aimed at provoking mass protests in Russia to unseat the government. In his words, it is noteworthy that the U.S. budget includes expenses on counteracting Russia, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.

The official warned that the U.S. will inevitably confront Russia and China in the light of economic expansion in Europe and the Asia-Pacific Region. He accused the U.S. of spreading discord between countries and regions.
Patrushev added that the U.S. was preventing any talks on the formation of a common economic and humanitarian space between Lisbon and Vladivostok.
