Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Barack Obama have discussed the situation in south-eastern Ukraine during a telephone conversation.
"The conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of the United States Barack Obama was initiated by the American side. The two leaders emphasized the need for a political solution to the internal conflict in Ukraine," RIA Novosti cited the Kremlin press service.
In addition, during the conversation the Russian President gave a detailed assessment of the situation in Ukraine’s south-east with an emphasis on Russia's latest proposals, being discussed also in the context of preparations for the high-level meeting in Minsk.
