The Turkish Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Umit Yardim, believes that political and subjective factors constantly impede Turkey joining the EU.
"Turkey has conducted and will continue to carry out the reform process with the provision of the highest standards for its citizens and to comply with EU legislation. Despite the efforts of Turkey and the acceleration of the accession negotiations, these are the main difficulties," RIA Novosti cited the ambassador.
At the same time, the diplomat believes that bilateral relations between Russia and Turkey are crucial for the situation in the region.
