The United States supports the talks in Minsk on Ukraine in the 'Normandy' format, State Department spokesperon Jen Psaki said.
"We certainly welcome the talks today. We support these efforts," she said. But Psaki did not rush to conclusions about the outcome. "I wouldn’t predict for you that there will be some conclusive outcome out of this," the representative of the State Department said.
On the question of whether the United States feels excluded from the debate on Ukraine, Psaki replied in the negative. "We’re in close touch and working in lockstep with our European partners," RIA Novosti cited her.
The talks on the settlement of the situation in the south-eastern Ukraine between the leaders of Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine are being held at the Independence Palace in Minsk.
