Round table ‘Russia-Armenia’ held in Moscow State University

The history department of the Moscow State University of Lomonosov
held a 'Russia-Armenia' round table on September 29. It was held by
the sub-department of former Soviet countries.


The sub-department staff, students and post graduates took part in the
round table. Officials from Armenian embassy were invited as special
guests. Alexey Vlasov, PhD of history, deputy head of the department
and head of the sub-department of history of the former Soviet
countries of the history department, made the opening speech,
describing the importance of cooperation between the two countries. He
pointed out the strong and weak aspects of the cooperation.


Manasyan, post graduate of the sub-department of post Soviet countries
of the Russian State University for the Humanities, talked about the
history of Russian-Armenian ties.


Solopova, PhD of history, member of the sub-department of the former
Soviet countries at the Moscow State University, made a speech.


In his speech the head of the Center for Caucasian Studies Agakishiyev
discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and ways to settle the issue.
He emphasized the friendly ties between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which
give hope that the dialogue will renew.
