Dagestani President Magomedsalam Magomedov and the Governor of Iran's
Gilyan Province, Gakhramani Chaboka Rukhollakh Zabikholly, signed a
trade-economic, science-technical, cultural and humanitarian
cooperation agreement in Gilyan on October 5, RIA Novosti reports.
The head of Dagestan noted at the meeting that they were many possible
joint projects in developing the natural resources of the Caspian,
ecology, sea transport, joint use of tourism potential of Dagestan and
Gilyan.
Trade turnover between Dagestan and Iran has reached $84 million. The
cargo turnover on the trade port of Makhachkala and the sea trade
ports of Iran continues growing. It may exceed 1.3 million tons. And
it is not the limit, Magomedov said.
