Yesterday German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that the sanctions already adopted by the EU against Russia will come into effect on February 16, as planned, in spite of the Minsk Agreement.
Answering this question, she said shortly, "Yes."
The Council of Foreign Ministers of the EU decided to introduce these additional sanctions (asset freezes and visa bans) in connection with the events at the end of January in Mariupol, RIA Novosti reports.
