UNSC says the hatred that IS espouses must be stamped out to defeat it

The massacre of Egyptian Christians in Libya has been strongly condemned by the UN Security Council. The members of the Security Council offered their condolences and called on countries to help the authorities of Libya and Egypt to find and punish terrorists.

"This crime once again demonstrates the brutality of IS, which is responsible for thousands of crimes and abuses against people from all faiths, ethnicities and nationalities, and without regard to any basic value of humanity," Tass cited the UN statement.

The members of the Security Council stressed again that IS must be defeated and that the intolerance, violence and hatred it espouses must be stamped out.
