Russia signed a €1.12 billion contract with France in June 2011, stipulating the construction of two Mistral-class helicopter carriers for the Russian Navy. The ships have a displacement of 21 tons, the maximum length of the body is 210 metres, the speed is 18 knots, the cruising range is up to 20 thousand miles.
