Tsarukyan: all issues in Armenia should be solved through peaceful, legal means

The leader of the Prosperous Armenia party (PA), Gagik Tsarukyan, has issued a call to solve all the accumulated problems in the country by peaceful and legitimate political means. 

"I have repeatedly stated that my personal task and the task of all of us is to serve for the benefit of our country and our people. To solve the existing problems in Armenia, we need not to wage war against each other, but work quietly, without insulting each other, show the existing shortcomings, find solutions and bring them to life," his statement reads. 

"I regret to say that recently the developments in our country are proceeding in an absolutely different course. This path leads to nothing good,” the Prosperous Armenia leader said, adding that “if it continues like this, no one will benefit, least of all our people. We cannot continue this way, we will all blame ourselves later.” 

"It is the task of both the authorities and the opposition not to cross the boundary of common sense. All problems must be solved in a peaceful, lawful and political way,” Novosti-Armenia cited Tsarukyan as saying. 

Also today Prosperous Armenia cancelled a nationwide rally that was previously planned for February 20. A statement issued by the party said the Yerevan Municipality had not authorized the event, and this creates illegal obstacles to holding the rally on February 20 in Freedom Square.
