Iranian supreme leader rules out lifting of sanctions

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said at a meeting with the public in East Azerbaijan Province that the Western powers would not lift the sanctions even if Iran conceded in the nuclear talks. Iran, he believes, can withstand the sanctions, Trend reports.

Khamenei reminded that the country had great gas and oil reserves much needed in the EU.

The leader added that the country should reduce its dependency on oil exports by developing national industry and taxation.
