President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The interlocutors stated that the ceasefire regime was not being observed by the militants, who continue artillery shelling of Ukrainian positions.
"The parties have discussed ways to achieve a sustainable ceasefire and emphasized that the OSCE special monitoring mission should have full access to the monitoring and verification," TASS cited the press service of the Ukrainian president.
In addition, Merkel has assured Petro Poroshenko of her support and agreed that the EU should take further measures to make the parties to the Minsk agreements fulfil them.
