After the allegations by President Regep Tayyip Erdogan about threats against his family, an investigation has begun in Turkey, the prosecutor's office in Ankara stated.
"Because of the public statements of President Tayyip Erdogan about the threats against him and his family, as well as publications in the media on this topic, the Ankara prosecutor's office has begun an investigation," the news agency Trend reports.
Earlier, Erdogan said in his public speeches that he and his family are being threatened. Some Turkish media published information, referring to the intelligence services, of plotting the assassination of Erdogan's daughter Sumeyye before the parliamentary elections on June 7 to disrupt the election campaign of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).
