The historic concert hall "Vigado" in Budapest, with the support of the Azerbaijani embassy in Hungary, hosted a presentation of the first European games "Baku-2015", organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
The event was attended by the Minister of Human Resources of Hungary, Zoltan Balogh, Budapest Mayor Istvan Tarlosh, executive director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov, Minister of Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov, deputies, representatives of accredited embassies in Hungary, veterans of the sport in this country and Azerbaijani athletes who will perform at the first European games, and live and work in Hungary.
According to Laszlo Fabian, the European Games will be held at a high level. He stressed that he has recently returned from Baku, where preparations for the Games are at a high level.
During the official part of the event, the master of ceremonies spoke about the historical ties between Azerbaijan and Hungary, work carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and its president Mehriban Aliyeva in the country and abroad in the field of cultural heritage conservation, the promotion of intercultural dialogue and improving opportunities for youth education.
For his part, Azad Rahimov reported about the prestigious international sports competitions that Azerbaijan will take in the coming years. He also drew attention to the importance of this sporting event for Azerbaijan, as well as the contribution it will make to the sporting life of all Europe. In addition, Rahimov spoke about the activities of the Organizing Committee of the first European Games "Baku-2015", which is chaired by the First Lady of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, Trend reports.
For his part, the Minister of Human Resources of Hungary, including sports, tourism and other fields, Zoltan Balog, stressed that there is support of President Ilham Aliyev for the competition at a high level. According to him, the two countries are bound by historical ties of friendship. He noted that Azerbaijani and Hungarian athletes always achieve good results in international competitions. In addition, Balog congratulated Azerbaijan on the occasion of these prestigious events and expressed hope that the Hungarian athletes who are preparing for the European Games "Baku-2015", will show successful results and return home with medals.
