Rouhani: no one can claim that Iran’s nuclear program is not peaceful

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, speaking at a conference of the Non-Aligned Movement’s science ministers in Tehran, said that the attempts to clarify its nuclear activities have removed grounds for accusing the country of pursuing a non-peaceful nuclear program.

"The ones who execute the sanctions are well aware of the intentions and goals of the Iranian people and government," the IRNA agency cited him.

"The Iranian nation is experiencing a lot of pressure just because of the fact that it defends its determination and the inalienable right of access to nuclear technology for use for civilian purposes," he added.

Rouhani is convinced that Western countries are engaged in discrimination in the field of science to put pressure on less developed countries in order to keep them with underdevelopment and unemployment.

According to Rouhani, other acute problems of countries with underdeveloped economies are poverty and unemployment, which have become "good breeding grounds for extremism and violence in the world."
