Germany will not attend 70th anniversary of WWII victory in Moscow

German President Joachim Gauck will not visit Moscow on May 9 for the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. He noted the contribution of the Red Army to the fight against fascism, TASS reports.


Gauck reminded that millions of Soviet prisoners had suffered during the war, half of them died in prisons. He expressed respect to Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians, Kyrgyz people, Kazakhs and other nations for their efforts in the war.
