Baku will host a presidential summit involving five Caspian countries (Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan) in December, an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said, Trend reports, citing Mehr.
Ramin Mekhmanparast said the sides will discuss the distribution of the Caspian Sea bed and determine the sea's status. The sides solved 70% of disputed issues at previous summits. The remaining issues will be discussed at the upcoming summit, he said.
In 2003 the sides signed a convention protecting the sea's environment.
