Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc has accused the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party of inciting ethnic conflict. Earlier, the party’s leader, Selahattin Demirtas, called on Kurds to hold mass protests.
He accused the Turkish government of using a democratic solution to the Kurdish problem to gain votes in the parliamentary elections scheduled for June.
According to Arinc, Demirtas is insincere in matters related to the Kurdish problem, the Milliyet newspaper writes.
The Turkish authorities hope the Peoples’ Democratic Party will not damage the process of a democratic solution to the Kurdish problem,” Trend cited Arinc as saying.
