Capital punishment will not be restored in Russia over Nemtsov’s death

Constantine Dobrynin, deputy head of the Federation Council committee on constitutional legislature and state construction, said today that the CPRF’s initiative to restore capital punishment in Russia was an unpleasant speculation on the assassination of Boris Nemtsov, RNS reports.

The communists plan to send a letter to the Russian president, prime minister and speakers of both houses of the Federal Council to lift the moratorium on capital punishment.

Gennady Zyuganov, the leader of the CPRF, called the assassination near the Kremlin walls outrageous.

Nemtsov was killed on Saturday night. He was buried at the Troyekurovskoye Cemetery.
