The presidents of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Turkey will visit Ashgabat for a summit on the promotion of the Trans-Anatolian Gas Pipeline project (TANAP) and the construction of the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline, a joint statement of the presidents of Turkey and Turkmenistan - Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
"We decided to raise it to the level of leaders and hold the first meeting of the mechanism in Turkmenistan this year," TASS cited Erdogan.
"During the talks, the sides have exchanged views on the transfer of Turkmen natural gas over Turkey to reach European markets," Erdogan said during a briefing in Ankara, stressing that both countries "have similar views on this important issue".
The energy ministers discuss the details of this cooperation, the Turkish president said.
