Constitutional reform in Ukraine is the only chance of establishing long-lasting peace in the country, State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin said.
"Undoubtedly, we cannot stay away from the events that are going on in this brotherly country," TASS cited him as saying.
"We understand that constitutional reform is the only way to establish a substantive peace and restore confidence in the authorities in Ukraine," the speaker stressed.
According to Naryshkin, Russia is closely following the constitutional process in Ukraine, which started with the signing of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko's decree to set up a commission to amend the country's constitution.
