Azerbaijani Press Council to monitor elections.
The Azerbaijani Press Council will form a monitoring team from the
board members of the Council to monitor the Azerbaijani parliamentary
elections scheduled for the 7th of November, the Council’s chairman
Aflatun Amashov announced today at a meeting with Rasto Kuzel, the
analyst on media monitoring missions from the Office for Democratic
Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) at OSCE, Trends reports.

The Council will focus on issues related to the coverage of the
elections by journalists. Amashov noted that the Council will create a
hotline which will function during the election campaign. This hotline
will allow journalists to promptly report any problems encountered
during election coverage.
