Iran will not have a military presence in Iraq, the Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces, Major General Hassan Firuzabadi, said today.
According to him, Tehran considers the issue of the security of its neighbors to be an internal matter. Help for Iraq is limited to only advisory aid, Trend reports Firuzabadi as saying.
No power has the right to interfere in a sovereign country under the pretext of establishing peace and security in the region, said the Chief of Staff of Iranian Armed Forces.
Tehran has repeatedly denied reports of the presence of Iranian military forces in Iraq.
