The Czech parliament has postponed the ratification of the Association Agreement with the EU. The reason is the Czech company Energo-Pro's dispute with the state of Georgia, Rustavi 2 reports.
Czech company, which began operations in the power system of Georgia in June 2007, has the largest electricity distribution company in Georgia - Energo-Pro Georgia.
Discussion of the issue was to begin tomorrow, but lawmakers postponed the ratification process until April 1. The Georgian side intends to obtain $60 million from Energo-Pro, Georgia-News reports with reference to the Czech media.
The Ministry of Energy of Georgia and the electricity distribution company refrained from making any comment.
