Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexey Meshkov said that Moscow is interested in Brussels’ explanation of the need for a proposed EU army, commenting on European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker’s statements.
"It would be great to understand what they are talking about, because European politicians have touched upon the subject at different levels over the last 30 years," TASS cited the diplomat. "It is hard for us to guess what Jean-Claude Juncker meant this time," Meshkov added.
On March 8, Jean-Claude Juncker called for the creation of an EU army in an interview with the German newspaper Welt am Sonntag.
