Italy considers the upcoming “parliamentary elections” in Azerbaijan’s occupied territories as illegitimate.
“Italy does not recognize the so-called Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh. So the upcoming “parliamentary elections” are illegitimate,” Trend cited the Italian Foreign Ministry.
Earlier, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said that the “parliamentary elections” scheduled by the separatist regime of Nagorno-Karabakh for May 3 are illegal.
According to Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hikmet Hajiyev, the upcoming “elections” are a violation of Azerbaijani law and are aimed at undermining the negotiating process on a settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
