Expansion of SCO has no legal obstacles, says director general

 

SCO Director General Dmitry Mezentsev said that expansion of the organization he was heading needed only approval of its members. The issue will be discussed in the near future, he added, TASS reports.The official reminded that the memorandum on full-fledged SCO membership and admission of new members had been approved in Dushanbe at the previous year’s summit. Admission of new members may happen at the upcoming SCO summit in Ufa this year.
