Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will visit Japan to attend the UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, to be held in the city of Sendai, the Turkmen government announced.
During a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, President Berdimuhamedov focused on the upcoming visit to Japan and said that, in addition to playing an active role in creating solutions to the current relevant problems, Turkmenistan is taking successive actions in this direction.
“Turkmenistan's participation in the UN Conference will confirm the country's readiness to further expand the fruitful partnership in the UN format, meeting the interests of all mankind,” Trend cited the President as saying.
The Turkmen media stressed the relevance and importance of the international initiatives previously put forward by Turkmenistan at the UN.
"An agreement on cooperation in preventing and liquidating the emergency situations in the Caspian Sea serves to achieve these goals,” Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports.
