NATO considers helping Iraq combat ISIS

 

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in Madrid that the Alliance was considering training the Iraqi army to fight ISIS militants. Iraq requested NATO assistance in training troops in late 2014, RIA Novosti reports.Stoltenberg emphasized that the NATO was not directly engaged in anti-ISIS operations. He added that all allies were making own contributions, be it bombing or weapon supplies.
