Georgian Constitution adoption date announced

Tomorrow, on the 12th of October, the Parliament of Georgia will vote on the final draft of the constitution. This decision was taken today at a Parliamentary session, News-Georgia reports.

The draft of the new constitution was developed and adopted by the State Constitutional Commission, which included representatives from academia, the government and the opposition, as well as from the non-governmental sector. The constitutionaal draft stands for a form of "joint governance”, strengthening, in particular, the role of the government.
