Georgia to become associate member of EuroGeographics.

Georgia will join the international organization EuroGeographics, which received the status of the EU's executive body on topography and spatial data in 2001. On Monday in Brussels the European Parliament held a meeting, at which a vote on the adoption of Georgia as an associate member took place, News-Georgia reports, referring to the National Agency of Public Registry of the Justice Ministry.

"Soon, territorial, geographic, topographic and other information data of Georgia will be posted on the single European online map. This will be another step towards its integration into European structures," the report says.

EuroGeographics was founded in 2001, for a period of 99 years, as an Association of European organizations on national topography, cadastre and land registration. At the moment EuroGeographics brings together more than 50 state geodetic and cartographic services in European countries.
