Only a couple political declaration of readiness to extend sanctions against Russia will be accepted at the EU summit, but a legal solution will be postponed until June.
"The final statement of the summit will include a provision on the need to continue the sanctions before implementation of the Minsk agreements," TASS cited an EU diplomat. At the same time, the diplomat admitted that the statement "will have no legal force." "EU leaders will return to the issue later, presumably at the next summit in June."
There is no official confirmation of this information yet.
The first EU measures of economic sanctions against Russia were introduced on July 31, 2014 for a period of 12 months.
