Russian President Vladimir Putin has supported the candidacy of incumbent Kazakhstani President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
"For all those who love Kazakhstan, for those who value its stable, gradual and very significant development, it is, of course, important for everyone to support the president of Kazakhstan. And I am of course among them," the leader said.
According to Putin, Nazarbayev "is the acknowledged leader of the country, a person who is very authoritative not only in Kazakhstan, but throughout the world, a famous, recognizable, and authoritative politician, so there is really no need for support in the elections," Interfax cited Putin.
