Dagestani Leader Ramazan Abdulatipov said in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza that Russian President Vladimir Putin's idea of forming the Federal Agency for Nationalities will encourage people in Russia to be friends. Abdulatipov expressed joy that Putin's first decree after becoming president in 2012 was to create the Council for Inter-Ethnic Relations. He reminded that a strategy for national policy was developed and the Presidential Council was operating efficiently.
The Dagestani leader noted that the national policy was also aimed at helping Russians. The well-being of Russians affects the well-being of other peoples, according to Ramazan Abdulatipov.
In his opinion, a lot will depend on the head of the federal agency. It has to be an educated man sensitive to all problems and a good enlightener, the Dagestani leader believes.
