More than a thousand people have arrived from the CIS countries, Europe and America to take part in the congress.
Ramzan Kadyrov has urged the representatives of the Chechen people, wherever they live, to consolidate. "Today we are the masters of our own republic, we have complete freedom and every opportunity to comply with the canons of Islam. We are free to shout to the world that we are Muslims and Chechens. What do we still lack? We need, firstly, for the world to understand that the Chechen people are not guilty of those tragedies that we experienced in different periods of our history. Secondly, we must become one united family, and cherish what we have now," the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said on the 12th of October.
The Congress will last for two days. It plans to adopt a charter for the forum, to form a permanent body - the General Council and to establish a magazine “Chechens in the 21st Century."
