Spokesman of the Pentagon Colonel Steve Warren said that the U.S. will consider helping Iraq in liberating Tikrit from Islamists, TASS reports.
Iraq started the liberation mission in Tikrit, the capital of the Saladin Governorate, on March 2. ISIS remains in control of most of the city. The military operation of Iraq involving tens of thousands of troops has been frozen.
