Speaker of the Chechen Parliament Dukuvakha Abdurakhmanov, commenting on the recommendation of U.S. congressmen to President Barack Obama to send weapons to Ukraine, said that supplying regions in a state of conflict with weapons would not help settle conflicts and only increased casualties, RIA Novosti reports.
As an example, he mentioned the cases of Yugoslavia, Afghanistan and Iran, blaming the U.S. and its allies for millions of deaths. Abdurakhmanov added the tortures in Abu Ghraib, Camp Nama and Guantanamo to the list of U.S. misconduct.
The speaker of parliament emphasized that Russians and Ukrainians were brothers and the U.S. had no right to tell Russia how it should treat its neighbour.
