The upcoming presidential elections in Kazakhstan will be positively evaluated by the West for the simple reason that the country has no real or serious reasons for the destabilization of the situation, a well-known political analyst and the Director of the Caspian Cooperation Institute, Sergei Mikheyev, said during the expert round table "Kazakhstan during the XXI century: a Strategy for Success".
"The position of power is strong in Kazakhstan, and society is sufficiently consolidated. Under these conditions, the possibilities of destabilization of the situation from outside are minimal," he said.
"Nazarbayev is a man who has been in power for many years. According to the common-sense view, this is quite acceptable," the analyst said.
